Safety
Our Commitment to Safety
At Burnett Haase Construction, safety is built into how we plan, staff, and run every project — not added on after the fact. Our goal on every jobsite is simple and non-negotiable: everyone who steps onto our site goes home safe at the end of the day.
We believe the safest projects are also the best-run projects. Thorough planning, clear communication, and disciplined field leadership stop incidents before they start — and the same habits keep our work on schedule and on budget.
That commitment covers everyone on site: our own team, our subcontractors, our clients, and the public around us. We hold every trade partner to the same standard we hold ourselves, and we back it up in the field every day.
How We Build Safely
Site-Specific Safety Planning
Every project begins with a safety plan built around its site, scope, and client requirements — folded into the schedule from day one rather than treated as an afterthought.
Job Hazard Analysis
Before higher-risk work begins, we break each task down to identify hazards and controls — covering excavation, rigging, work at height, confined spaces, and other above-average risks.
Daily Pre-Task Planning & Toolbox Talks
Crews and subcontractors plan the day's work together and walk through the specific hazards of each task before tools are picked up.
Subcontractor Prequalification
We review the safety record and practices of every subcontractor before they set foot on a BHC jobsite — and hold them to our standard once they're there.
Ongoing Training to OSHA Standards
Our field teams work to OSHA standards, with regular safety training matched to the roles and tasks on each project.
Inspections & Follow-Through
Field leadership conducts routine safety walks and tracks every issue to resolution, so small problems get fixed before they become serious ones.
Regular Safety Meetings
Subcontractors take part in regular on-site safety meetings to review recent events, upcoming work, and lessons learned across the project.
Personal Protective Equipment
Required PPE is enforced on every BHC jobsite — consistently, and without exceptions.
On our sites, safety comes before schedule and before budget. Nothing we build is worth someone getting hurt.
